ROBERT MORENO

Robert Moreno is a football coach by vocation and the beautiful game has been his life since the age of 14. He has devoted his heart and soul to his profession for the past 30 years, while still finding time for his family and friends.

His first taste of the elite game came at AS Roma in the 2011-12 campaign. Following his time in the Italian capital, Moreno headed to Vigo in the 2013-14 season to take up a role as a member of the coaching staff at RC Celta, where he would later return in 2017 for another year with the Galician club. However, his greatest achievements prior to embarking on his career as a coach in his own right came during a three-year spell at FC Barcelona (2014-2017), where he enjoyed silverware success in LaLiga, the UEFA Champions League, Copa del Rey, Spanish Super Cup, UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup.

After gaining the necessary experience over the course of several seasons and a brief spell as a coach with the Spain national team, he guided La Roja to EURO 2020.

Armed with the confidence of a coach who had led a World Cup-winning squad, he took up the reins at AS Monaco in 2020 and remained in the hotseat until a change in the incumbent of the director of football role at the principality outfit brought his tenure to an end.

His most recent stint in the dugout was with Spanish top-flight side Granada during the 2021-22 campaign.

In December 2023 he signed for PFC Sochi, the Russian Premier League team he currently manages.
